Thunderstorms and Joe Meek.

Sitting through a thunderstorm,
Acoustically magnificent,
A dull unified sound from the left,
A clamoring crash from the right
echoing down a hall way
I have been channelling
much like he, himself,
would have believed
his energy
Mr. Joe Meek –
The Strange and Legendary.
Innovative with a “secret box”,
Ahead of this time,
Short-tempered,
Good-willed,
Believed his walls were bugged
and,
alas,
provoked
into
the
final
hours
choosing
to
take
his
life
and
that
of
his
landlady
the
same
day
his
hero
Buddy
his channelled
from the hidden Holly
guide
died.

  1. A LIFE IN THE DEATH OF… is the BEST documentary that is or ever COULD be about this man! I was hoping it would be out on DVD by now, but it seems that they are still in production. Definitely worth the wait.

  2. Glad you like the photo I took of the Joe Meek Painting, poem was interesting, I hope the work of Joe Meek and his life and contributions to the music industry are now going to have the attention he deserves.
